(No seriously, it would have been up this week but I've just been too busy)

The racism I refer to in Thomas is based entirely on the Steamies vs Diesels. The Diesels are portrayed as evil and conniving and as a lesser species to the steam engines, yet they exist for the exact same purpose as the steamies (to be useful) and it is repeatedly shown that they can be helpful and even kind if given the chance. But then the next episode the steam engines go back to making fun of them and treating them like crap again.

But yeah, the oppressive state and worker exploitation is abhorrent, too.C.D. I mean, seriously, work and be useful or go to the smelters yard (put to death!)? Never mind that Sir Topem Hat owns the entire railway outside of Blue Mountain Quarry.John Yhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16465161620134394060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3188833949555515251.post-5387275501503233302014-08-28T13:27:52.978-04:002014-08-28T13:27:52.978-04:00Interesting point. I have some gaming history to study.

I doubt the FATE designers would deny where their game came from - but it's interesting they make virtually no mention of it in their new addition. At what point did D&D stop mentioning that it came from Chainmail? Obviously it's a more complicated matter because FUDGE and FATE are so similar and closely related.C.D. It used to in prior editions of Fate. This doesn't stop me from using Fate, myself, because it's a great evolution on FUDGE but it's kind of a crappy thing the authors of Fate have done.Bakononhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00358286006275312427noreply@blogger.com
